The Olden Days is the 51st episode of Season 4 of "Peppa Pig", and the 207th episode overall.
Plot[]
Mummy Pig shows Peppa and her friend Suzy Sheep some old photographs from when they were babies.
Summary[]
One sunny day, Suzy Sheep comes over to Peppa's house to show her a picture of her when she was a baby. Peppa thinks that Suzy is joking, but it is actually real, then goes to Mummy Pig for help when Suzy says that Peppa was a baby as well. She shows them a picture of Peppa when she was a baby, whom she mistakes for Baby Alexander, but Mummy clarifies that it was, in fact, Peppa as a baby. Daddy Pig and George overhear their laughter. Peppa shows him the photograph, and Daddy Pig remembers it: it was taken when they moved into their house. Mummy Pig put pictures up, Daddy Pig put up a shelf (which tilted and broke a flower vase), and Grandpa Pig made them a flower garden. Daddy Pig remarks that they have "the wrong kind of soil for flowers", even though he looked after it.
Then Peppa's parents mention that she and Suzy have been best friends since they were babies; they blew raspberries at each other, cried, burped, and laughed when they played together in the garden. The two loved the fact that they were babies. They then became toddlers, and Mummy Pig was pregnant with George. Peppa makes a silly comment about Daddy Pig's big tummy and asks if there is a baby in there, and Daddy Pig says no, that it is pure muscle. Then when George was born, Mummy Pig reveals that Granny and Grandpa Pig gave him Mr. Dinosaur as a present, that the two toddlers (Peppa and Suzy) were running and jumping around, and Toddler Peppa discovers her first muddy puddle and jumps in it happily. The episode ends with the children jumping in a puddle and Mummy Pig taking a picture of them now.

Trivia[]
- This is the first Peppa Pig episode to feature Peppa, Suzy, and George as babies. It is also the first episode to feature Suzy and Peppa as toddlers, at George's age.
- This is the first episode to show Mummy Pig pregnant.
- There are two photographs of Baby Peppa Pig in this episode: one in the garden, and one on a white background in a portrait studio.
- Peppa and George looked just like Baby Alexander when they were baby piglets; however, Peppa was wearing red baby clothes, while George wore a dark-blue onesie. Alexander wears yellow.
- It is revealed in this episode that Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, and Peppa moved into their home when she was a baby, Suzy and Peppa have been best friends since they were babies, and Granny and Grandpa Pig gave George Mr. Dinosaur as a present.
- George had a high-pitched, squeaky voice when he was a baby.
- Toddler Peppa and Suzy are not wearing shoes in this episode.
- Baby Peppa and Baby Suzy do not say "Goo Goo Ga Ga" in this episode, while Baby George does. Also, Baby George is the only baby in the series to not be seen crying. Baby Peppa and Baby Suzy are also the only two babies to make their animal sounds, while George doesn't.
- Mummy Pig is seen holding Baby George in a flashback scene, while Baby Suzy and Baby Peppa are not seen being held.
- It is revealed that Peppa discovered her first muddy puddle and jumped in it when she was a toddler. She also had the same yellow boots that she currently has, although they may have been a smaller pair.
- Peppa looked just like George is today when she was a toddler.
- Peppa and George were mentioned as babies in the past episodes of The Baby Piggy, Baby Alexander, and The Noisy Night. In those episodes, Peppa's nappy needs changing too, but she's got her nappy on, because she is a big girl, when George was a baby, they gave him a quiet drive in their car and his pram around their house, and their first words. In this episode, Peppa claims that she wasn't a baby, although Mummy Pig clarifies that later on in this episode. Then she believes it.
- When Daddy Pig tells Peppa that there is no baby in his tummy and that it is "pure muscle", he is correct since most male animals, especially human males, don't give birth to babies. Females do. Animals such as seahorses have the male give birth.
- This episode aired exactly six years after Granddad Dog's Garage.
- This is the last episode to feature crying, before the Golden Boots film.
Goofs[]
- In the last scene with Peppa and Suzy as babies, while they are crying, their tears cannot be heard before Mummy Pig says, "You cried". Their tears are then heard after she says it. In the same scene, after she says, "and you laughed", the baby girls are giggling, but as the flashback fades to the present, they continue to giggle, but no sound is heard.
- In both scenes showing Peppa and Suzy together as babies, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, and Mummy Sheep are not seen; It is possible, however, that they are watching over the baby girls off-screen.
- Mummy Sheep is not seen throughout the episode.
- When Mummy Pig shows Peppa and Suzy her baby picture, Peppa says that it is Baby Alexander. The baby in this photo (Peppa) is wearing a red onesie, while Baby Alexander wears yellow, so Peppa may not have seen the red baby clothes, or she doesn't believe it yet.
- It is unknown and never revealed how Baby Suzy came to Baby Peppa's house to play with her despite her not being able to walk yet as a baby; it is possible, however, that Mummy Sheep brought her over to play.
- Daddy Pig says that they have the wrong kind of soil for flowers, while in past episodes, there have been flowers growing in their garden.
- Daddy Pig says, "And, anyway, you needed somewhere to play". He should've said, "And, anyway, you needed somewhere to play with."
- When Mummy Pig says that Peppa discovered her first muddy puddle at George's age, she is seen in the flashback wearing yellow boots. Those may have been a smaller pair as she was a toddler. In the same flashback scene, before she starts talking about George as a baby, the children are wearing their shoes, while after the flashback of Peppa's first muddy puddle, they are seen wearing their boots. It is possible that they ran inside to put them on while Mummy Pig was talking about it.
- At the very beginning of the episode, the baby photo of Suzy gets larger as the camera zooms in.
- In the first flashback scene when Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig are moving into their house, they leave Baby Peppa in their car unattended. However, they may have either left the air conditioner on to keep Baby Peppa cool, or they left to take her out of the car, and she is crawling, lying down, or sitting on the floor of their house offscreen.
- Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig do not appear to be younger during the flashback scenes. Neither do Granny and Grandpa Pig.
- When Granny & Grandpa Pig gave George Mr. Dinosaur as a baby, he copies a dinosaur roaring. He would be unable to imitate a dinosaur, seeing as he is only a baby & would not know what a dinosaur is yet.
