Goldie the Fish is a pet in "Peppa Pig".
Biography[]
Goldie is the pet of the Pig Family. She is a goldfish. Goldie is mostly seen in episodes centered around Peppa's family and is almost always seen in the living room of their house. Her fishbowl sits on top of the family television. In The Aquarium, she befriends Miss Rabbit's pet, Ginger, a pink-colored goldfish. She can understand English when it is spoken to her. To communicate, she blows bubbles at whoever she is trying to speak to. Her mood can be inferred based on how fast she blows bubbles or how many she blows. She is widely loved and appreciated and is given a birthday party in Undersea Party. Goldie often makes splashes to show excitement, and her voice can be heard when she giggles or gasps. Goldie is often seen as a background character in Peppa's House. Her most major appearances are Goldie the Fish, Undersea Party, and The Aquarium.
Personality[]
Goldie is a calm and quiet fish. She is understanding and well-behaved. Though she can be a handful sometimes because she is easily bored and sometimes feels sorrow over not having a friend to accompany her. This can be proven in Goldie the Fish, when Peppa observes Goldie while feeding her and sees that she looks sad, so Mummy Pig phones Doctor Hamster, who tells her to bring her to the vet. When they arrive, Goldie feels happy again after enjoying the attention from everyone on the bus they took to get to the vet. This can also be proven in The Aquarium, when Peppa once again notices Goldie's sorrow while feeding her, so the pig family decide to take her to the aquarium to make a friend. At the end of the episode, Goldie becomes friends with Ginger, Miss Rabbit's pet goldfish. Goldie is very observant and likes to watch the people around her. In Flying on Holiday, she expresses joy from hearing the sound of Peppa's voice over the phone. This implies that she is most comfortable around people that she knows.
Appearance[]
Goldie is a tiny, orange goldfish. She has dotted black eyes and a small purple mouth, often seen smiling. She also has a tiny tail. In The End of the Holiday, she becomes a massive size due to Grandpa Pig overfeeding her.
Trivia[]
- In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, she was named "Goldie" in Goldie the Fish and The Aquarium. In newer episodes, she's named "Dourada" (golden).
- She was referred to as "The Little Fish" in Mysteries.
