Muddy Puddles is the first episode of the first season of "Peppa Pig". In this episode, Peppa and George jump in Muddy Puddles.
Plot
This is a House on the top of the hill where the Pig Family lives. Meet a young pig named Peppa and her little brother, George Pig are sadly watching the rain outside. They wish to go out and play, and when the rain suddenly stops, Peppa asks her father Daddy Pig if they can play. After he allows it they hurriedly run outside and Peppa starts jumping on a small mud puddle until her mother Mummy Pig stops her and reminds her that she must wear her boots. After changing, Peppa resumes jumping in the mud. George runs by to join her, but Peppa reminds him that he has to wear his boots too. So, he runs back into the house and grabs them to change. That makes Peppa very happy, because she likes to watch over George.
When he returns they resume jumping until Peppa suggests they go to look for more puddles. They jump in super tiny puddles, large puddles, and more. But before George can jump into it, Peppa tells him to wait because she wants to make sure it's safe enough for him. In the process she accidentally splashes him with mud and George starts to cry until, she reminds him that it's only mud. Which calms him down before he jumps into the puddle to splash Peppa. At first she seems displeased, but then she thinks how she splashed George, before they both laugh and end up falling back and begin to splash and roll in the mud.
After a while they decide to run inside and show Daddy Pig; who teases them by trying to guess just what the two of them were doing. After he guesses, he then suggests to them that they should get cleaned up before Mummy Pig finds out about the mess. Peppa then asks if they can all go out to play and Daddy Pig agrees. After cleaning, Peppa, George, Mummy, and Daddy all change into their boots and head outside to play in the mud. They all jump in it until Daddy Pig falls over; momentarily worrying them all until Peppa points out it is only mud, and they all start to laugh.

Trivia
- This is the first episode for several things:
- This is the first episode to start in a rainy day.
- This is the very first episode of the series.
- This is the first episode where Peppa broke the 4th wall by talking to the camera. This happens again in Frogs and Worms and Butterflies, New Shoes, and Thunderstorm.
- When they laugh a lot in the muddy puddle, their shirt/dress go dark brown and the mud on them is black. This doesn't happen in anymore episodes.
- This is the first time George cries in this episode, However, his crying sound is different than usual.
- The animation was produced between 4th and 8th August 2003.
- In some dubs, when Peppa splashes George there is more mud on his face.
Goofs/Errors/Mistakes
- Only the start of the episode used tweening to animate both Peppa and her family, This won't happen again because the rest has frame by frame animation.
- When Daddy Pig laughs, his animation seems to lack some frames, making it look weird.
- When Peppa and George are about to play in the garden, the kitchen countertops disappear.
- When George is about to get off his little seat, his neck seems to disconnect from his body for a second.
- When Peppa is told to wear boots to jump in muddy puddles, while saying "Sorry mommy!" her lip sync starts slightly later.
- When George jumps in the muddy puddle to join the fun, his neck gets stuck, and his head appears to be lower than normal.
- In one frame, George appears to be looking at Peppa, in the other, when the camera is zoomed out, George is instead looking at nothing.
- George continues to jump in the muddy puddle after he has wore his boots, but the neck problem persists as he jumps, making his head go lower and lower.
- When jumping in the big muddy puddle, George, instead of looking at his sister like he is meant to do, instead, looks at the floor, because his eye placement makes him look cross-eyed.
- When George starts to cry, Peppa instantly rotated towards him, as she already knew that would happen.
- When George cries, he snaps to other animations instantly, without any in-between frame.
- When George Laughs, he gets from happy to sad also without an in-between animation.
